I write narrative non-fiction. My first book, published in 2006, is A1 Diner: Real Food, Recipes, and Recollections, a cultural and culinary history of the diner that has been at 3 Bridge Street in Gardiner, Maine since 1946. My current project is The Taking of Drakes Bay Oyster Farm, the sad and shocking tale of a popular, historic oyster farm that was destroyed by the National Park Service in 2014. The non-fiction authors I admire most are John McPhee and Lawrence Wright.
