I'm currently working on a queer love story about a Greek refugee and a Palestinian botanist set in Gaza during the final years of the Second World War.

I've also written a novel-in-stories called FOREIGN OBJECTS about the healing power of family lore. It follows a young queer man who struggles to find his place in a tradition-bound family that feels like an ill fit. He begins to look backward and explore his large Greek-American family's century-long struggle to define itself and its place in a changing America and finds in the same roots that are the source of his oppression a newfound sense of belonging. He discovers that he is far from being the first to have his quest for modernity thwarted by Old World Values.

Finally, I've completed a non-fiction manuscript on the history of the residential funeral home, titled PRESERVED: A CULTURAL HISTORY OF THE FUNERAL HOME IN AMERICA. Thoroughly researched, it combines scholarly work with an accessible style, which makes it suitable for a trade press. Because of the gothic nature of the subject matter, I am confident that the book will have a broad appeal. I have no doubt that every funeral professional in America, of which there are over 100,000, will read this book.
